History

  • Began in the 2008 growing season

Goals

  • Bring people together in a healthy and productive way within the community
  • Beautify the community property
  • Provide a low-cost way for people to participate in local food production

Successes

We have managed to keep all of our plots active for the last two years, and grew by two plots this year.

Challenges, Needs & Barriers

We have a tough time getting people to volunteer with regular cleanup and maintenance of the grounds and the filling of the rain barrels. We need greater participation in basic maintenance of the grounds.

Future Aim

We hope to keep growing and keep gardeners committed to the community garden movement.  We are presently working on a garden expansion and the addition of a community orchard. Stay tuned for updates!
